On the International Woman’s day ,THE PG DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE organized a webinar based on IWD 2021 campaign theme #ChooseToChallenge. This day calls out to celebrate women’s achievement and to help create an inclusive world irrespective of gender bias and inequality.
The speakers of webinar were Ms. Bavitha K.K (Cricket Coach & Fitness Trainer) & Ms. Subha Rakesh (FIDE Chess Arbiter & President ECA). They were welcomed by Dr. Noushad P.M (Academic Director). It was held via G-Meet & YouTube. The event was anchored by Ms. Greeshma (Final Year M. Com Student). There were around 200 participants. Faculty coordinators were Ms. Aiswarya C.S & Ms. Roshni Kamal. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Nasiya K.A (H.O.D Dept. of Commerce).
There were 2 virtual competitions conducted on the same day.
- “Proud to be a Woman” Contest (a recorded video contest) for girls.
This was a recorded video contest in which there were 10 participants. They had to send a 2-5 min’s recorded video on what made them proud to be a woman. The 1st prize was bagged by Ms. Raisa Abdul Khader of MBA and 2nd prize was bagged by Ms. Nandana Navakumar of B. Com (Tax).
- A Woman who inspired you (Essay writing competition) for boys.
It was a short essay writing competition of less than 750 words in any language. There were 7 participants. The students had to write an essay about a woman who inspired them and changed their life for better. The 1st prize was bagged by Mr. Jijoy Biju of B. Com (CA) and 2nd prize was bagged by Mr. Vasanth Sermaraj of MBA.
The faculty cordinators for both these events were Ms. Aiswarya C.S & Ms. Roshni Kamal. The prizes of winners were declared by speakers during the webinar. Cash prizes of these events were distributed by Dr. Noushad P.M (Academic Director).
