COUNSELING COMMITTEE CONSTITUTION

The Counseling Committee is a dedicated and compassionate space committed to fostering the holistic well-being of our student community. Our Counseling committee is a vital support system, providing confidential and professional guidance to students facing personal, academic, or emotional challenges. Anchored in the principles of empathy, understanding, and respect, our team of qualified counselors and psychologists is here to facilitate personal and academic growth. Through seminars and collaborative initiatives, we aim to raise awareness about mental health, promote resilience, and contribute to the creation of a nurturing and inclusive college environment. At the heart of our mission is the commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest ethical standards, ensuring a safe and trusted space for every student seeking support on their journey of self-discovery and growth.

Article I: Mission and Objectives

Section 1: Mission The mission of the Counseling committee is to provide confidential and professional counseling services to students, fostering personal and academic growth while promoting a healthy and supportive college community.

Section 2: Objectives a. To offer guidance and support to students facing personal, academic, or emotional challenges. b. To organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on mental health and well-being. c. To collaborate with other campus organizations to promote a holistic approach to student development. d. To maintain the confidentiality and privacy of the individuals seeking counseling services.

Article II: Structure

Section 1: Leadership a. The Counseling committee shall be led by a coordinator appointed by the college administration. Counseling cell is overviewed by department of psychology

Section 2: Members a. Membership are qualified and trained counselors, psychologists, and relevant professionals. b. Members are selected based on their expertise, experience, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Section 3: Decision-Making a. Decisions shall be made through a collaborative and democratic process, with input from all members. b. In the absence of a consensus, a simple majority vote shall determine the course of action.

Article V: Confidentiality

a. All information shared by individuals seeking counseling services shall be treated with the utmost confidentiality. b. Members of the Counseling committee shall adhere to ethical standards and professional codes of conduct.

Article VI: Outreach and Programs

a. The Counseling committee shall organize outreach programs, workshops, and events to raise awareness about mental health and well-being. b. Programs shall be designed to address the diverse needs of the student population.

Article VII: Amendments

This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the Counseling committee members.

Article VIII: Ratification

This constitution shall be ratified by a two-thirds majority vote of the founding members of the Counseling committee

This constitution is hereby adopted on 11.10.2022
