OBC CELL

CONSTITUTION

The OBC cell of KMM College of Arts and Science, Thrikkakara has been constituted with the purpose of empowering the OBC students and ensuring proper implementation of various schemes of the UGC, Government of India, and State Government concerning scholarships, stipends, etc. for the welfare of reserved categories. This cell has been created in the college to assist the affairs and resolve all problems related to the OBC students of the college.

OBJECTIVES

• ● The committee pays attention to ensure the effective implementation of the reservation policy in admissions. .
• ● To ensure equality in opportunities for the OBC students in their curricular and co-curricular activities.
• ● To help the OBC students in the college to make use of the facilities extended by the Central and State Government, and UGC for their educational and occupational careers.
• ● To instill confidence and provide them with emotional support and counselling.

FUNCTIONS

• ●To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by the University/State and Central Government, UGC and to collect information regarding course-wise admission of candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes in various programs in the college. .
• ● To provide orientation to students regarding various scholarships/free ships/other benefits for OBC students offered by Government (State &Central), UGC and other organizations.
• ● To organize skill-based training for OBC students to prepare them for UGC-NET/JRF/SET/ and other Competitive Examinations.
• ● To function as a Grievance Redressal Cell for the settlement of grievances of OBC students and render them necessary help in solving their academic, research, and administrative problems.
• ● To maintain database of candidates belonging to OBC students in the college to facilitate training and placement services.
