The Department of Computer Science was established at KMM College in the academic year 2008 – 2009. The Department had started its functioning with Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) course. Later the UG Programme BSc Computer Science was started in the academic year 2012-2013. The Department offers a 3-year degree programme in Computer Applications (BCA), 3-year degree programme in BSc Computer Science and a 2-year post graduate degree programme in Computer Science (MSc. – Computer Science). Now the total strength of BCA and B.Sc Computer Science is around 250 students. The prime objective of the Department is to provide a strong foundation to pursue post graduation programme in Computer Science /Applications. The knowledge acquired by the students may also equip them to meet the industrial need, and get placed.
Programme Objective
The Programme in Computer Application and Science is designed with the following specific objectives.
- To be a foundation graduate programme which act as a feeder course for higher studies in the area of Computer Science/Applications.
- To develop skills in software development so as to enable the graduates to take up self-employment in Indian & global software market.
- To train & equip the students to meet the requirement of the Industrial standards.
Course Design
The UG programme in Computer Applications and Science includes Common courses, Core courses, Complementary courses, Open courses, Seminar, Project and viva voce. No course shall carry more than four credits. The student shall select any one open course in semester V offered by various departments of the college.
Duration of Course
The UG programme shall normally extend over a period of three academic years consisting of six semesters and PG programme extend over a period of two years having four semesters

TECHGENIE
The Techgeine Association is the dedicated department association of the Computer Science Department at KMM College of Arts and Science. It actively organizes and coordinates various programs aimed at enhancing students' technical skills, soft skills, and overall career readiness. This includes activities like tech fests, career guidance sessions, workshops on new technologies, and other events that foster both personal and professional growth for students within the department. Regular sessions on the latest advancements in technology are conducted by industry experts and academicians. These include workshops on emerging areas like artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity, allowing students to stay updated on the latest trends and tools in the tech world.
