About

Social work students association was formed on August 19th 2024. KASS serves as an important resource for social work students helping them to prepare for successful careers in social work while encouraging their active participation in social and community-based initiatives.

Vision

To empower and inspire social work students to become compassionate, skilled, and ethical professionals, committed to fostering social change, advocating for justice, and promoting the well-being of individuals and communities.

Mission

The Social Work Students Association aims to provide a collaborative platform for students to engage in meaningful learning experiences, community service, and professional development. We are dedicated to foster a supportive environment where students can cultivate leadership, enhance their skills, and advocate for social justice while building a strong sense of community within and beyond our college.

Objectives

  • Promote Professional Development: Provide students with opportunities for personal and professional growth through workshops, guest lectures, training sessions, and networking events that enhance their knowledge and skills in social work.
  • Foster Peer Support and Collaboration: Create a supportive community for social work students to share experiences, challenges, and resources, promoting collaboration and mutual assistance among peers.
  • Enhance Awareness of Social Issues: Raise awareness of pressing social issues, such as poverty, mental health, inequality, and human rights, through campaigns, discussions, and community service initiatives.
  • Provide Leadership Opportunities: Develop leadership skills among students by involving them in organizing events, managing projects, and taking on leadership roles within the association.
  • Strengthen the Connection Between Students and the Social Work Profession: Provide a platform for students to connect with professionals, alumni, and faculty, fostering relationships that will be valuable for career development and future networking.
  • Promote Ethical Practice and Social Responsibility: Reinforce the importance of ethical conduct and professional values, ensuring that students are aware of the social work code of ethics and their responsibilities as future practitioners.
  • Create a Sense of Belonging: Build a sense of community and belonging for social work students, helping them feel supported and engaged in their academic journey.
